Twenty-nine plans developed by the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) Agricultural Biological Engineering Department and PSU Cooperative Extension Service are presented here, including: 12 freestall plans (two-, three-, four-, and six-row traditional and freestall barns). Six heifer plans (bedded pack, counter-slope, and single-slope housing plus three types of heifer freestall barns). Four dry cow and maternity plans (bedded pack and pre-fresh and post-fresh barns with feed driveway or drive-through feeding). Seven plans for details and components such as sidewalls, dividers, watering locations, and floor surfaces.
