Guide to moths in Iowa field crops (Unit=25)
Corn, soybean, alfalfa, pastures, and small grains in Iowa are at risk of being infested by caterpillars, such as black cutworm and fall armyworm. Caterpillars are the immature stage of butterflies and moths. Although moths are not pests, monitoring and proper identification is useful to determine scouting information for their offspring.

The Iowa State Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is now offering a self-paced continuing instruction course (CIC) option. This self-paced CIC allows you to complete the course requirement over a
7-day period (12/23/2024 – 12/29/2024), on your own time!
This course option includes the same great content that you would get at a county office showing but allows you the flexibility to view and complete the requirements on your own from anywhere! This self-paced course is approved for Commercial CIC credit in the following categories: 3O, 3T, and 3OT.
This is a participation-based course. To complete this course, you are required to watch the provided video content, and then submit attendance verification codes in the course quizzes as proof of attendance.
This course will require you to use Canvas to complete the course. This is an online course management system. If you are not comfortable with using a computer, or taking an online class, PSEP encourages you to attend a county office showing, or one of our online live-stream programs.
You will have 7-days to complete the requirements of this course. This course section starts on 12/23/2024 at 12:01AM and will end on 12/29/2024 at 11:59PM. All requirements of the course must be finished in that 7-day period to receive your certificate of completion. If you do not meet all the course requirements in that 7-day period, you will not receive a certificate of completion or a refund.
