Watch Me Grow
A two-part lesson for crops and horticulture project areas. Learn about seeds and how they grow.
Lesson One - Seed Dissection: In this activity, you will dissect different seeds to find out what is inside. In agriculture, farmers must identify the seeds in order to manage each plant correctly.
Lesson Two - Growing Experience: In this activity, you grow your own crops. By engaging in this growing experiment you will explore management practices used every day in the agriculture industry to help move towards a sustainable food system.
Youth-serving organizations in Iowa are encouraged to contact their local
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach county office
to explore partnership opportunities in administering this program.
