Public Awareness and Understanding of Gene Edited Foods in the US

In this publication, we examine current levels of awareness and understanding about GEFs, broken down by demographics, social attitudes, and information sources. Our purpose is to gauge public perceptions of this emerging food technology to inform policy discussions and educational efforts around GEFs. Our data comes from a nationally representative sample of 2,000 US residents surveyed in 2020, taken from YouGov’s National Omnibus Panel.
